ICER 2024- Proceedings of the International Conference on Education Research

These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the International Conference on Education Research (ICER 2024), hosted by ACI and The Independent Institute of Education, South Africa, on 21 - 22 November 2024. The Conference Chair is Professor Margi Boosey, and the Programme Chair Professor Reza Hussein all from The Independent Institute of Education, South Africa.

ICER is in its inaugural year as an event on the academic research calendar and the key aim is the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet the people who hold them. The scope of papers will ensure an interesting two days. The subjects covered illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research.

The opening keynote presentation is given by Professor Andre Abrahams from The Independent Institute of Education, South Africa, who will talk about Not All Movement is Forward, Not All Change is Good: Tradition in the age of rapid innovation and technology. The second day of the conference will begin with an address from Extraordinary Professor Dan Remenyi from University of the Western Cape, South Africa who will discuss AI and Research.

With an initial submission of 155 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 53 Academic research papers, 2 PhD research papers, and 4 work-in-progress papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Australia, Botswana, Canada, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, UK, and the USA.
